SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) - Stockport Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester Contract Type: Full-time - Temp to Perm Salary: £14.65 Per Hour Start Date: Immediate About the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a well-established school in Stockport. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs. As a SEND TA, you will be working closely with students to support their academic, social, and emotional development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEND Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs Support students with various learning difficulties, including autism, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs Promote inclusion and encourage students to engage with their learning Assist with behavior management strategies in line with school policies Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor student progress Support in the preparation of resources and classroom setup Help with personal care and mobility if required, in accordance with individual student needsEssential Criteria: UK experience of working with children with SEND in a school setting (preferred but not essential) A strong understanding of the diverse needs of SEND students Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students Ability to work well as part of a team and independently A passion for supporting children's development and learningDesirable Criteria: A relevant qualification in special educational needs.
