Job Title: Section Engineer:
The Section Engineer is to plan, provide engineering control and supervise production resources, ensuring compliance with project and company systems for a defined section of the works
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working on large civil projects, with a background, either within heavy civils, Structures, highways or infrastructure.

The Role Section Engineer :
Reporting to the Commercial Manager based at site
Managing a section of the civil engineering project
Co-ordinate and control construction activities ensuring the project runs to schedule and budget
Day to Day management of site activities, including supervising and monitoring the site operations and carrying out briefings as necessary, preparing RAMS and ensuring compliance
Ensuring plant and materials are ordered and supplied as required
Checking drawings and quantities, ensuring that the information is accurate for the work
Produce Risk Assessments / Method Statements
Ensuring that activities are planned, organised, and monitored to ensure safety, time constraints, and quality requirements are met
Ensure Health & Safety procedures are monitored and adhered to
Produce work permits
Manage subcontractors
What our client is looking for in a Section Engineer :
MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC/ Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering Essential
Previous experiance of working on smaller bridges such as pedestrian bridges, cycle bridges, livestock bridges, small road bridge, steel and timber bridges, or Panel Bridges Essential
CSCS card, NEBOSH or IOSH
Previous experience within a similar role Essential
Willing to travel through the UK Essential
Full Driving Licence Essential
Relevant experience in general Civil Engineering including setting out of the works
Working knowledge of planning works with understanding of expected productivity outputs
Knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general Civil Engineering
Sound IT skills and able to work confidently with MS Office including Microsoft Project
Ability to communicate and work with Site Engineers, Supervisors and Site Teams
Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
