An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Transport and Regulatory Services as Client Transport Project Manager. We are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced project manager to support the Client Transport Team to deliver improvements for the customer, systems, processes and our operating model that contributes to the delivery of defined savings targets.

The Client Transport Team are primarily responsible for providing home to school transport for eligible children and young people in accordance with the Council’s policy and national guidance. We are also responsible for social care transport for adults with additional needs, children with social care plans and children in care.
You will be joining our busy and friendly team, supporting the ambitious and wide-ranging Home to School Transport programme.
Our work matters and you will play a key role in the evolution of our service.
About the role
As a dynamic and experienced project manager, you will deliver complex projects and change initiatives end-to-end, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed specification. You will lead project research and analysis as well as developing, with the input of others, solutions to support our statutory duty to provide transport assistance for children and young people who are eligible to receive it.
You will lead on the development of options appraisals and business cases, and manage and develop project timelines, Board reports, corporate governance and project progress to ensure delivery. You will be expected to work flexibly to provide support to the programme as required on different initiatives.
You will provide expert advice, guidance, support and challenge to project and programme practitioners/ professionals, and to customers and stakeholders. A key aspect to the role will be engaging with key stakeholders at all levels (including Members, Corporate Directors, senior and operational staff and partners) to ensure successful collaboration is achieved.

About you
We're looking for a qualified and experienced project manager who can make great things happen.
You'll be leading and managing multiple complex projects and change initiatives which span across council service areas using your skills and experience in project management and business analysis. You'll have expert knowledge of project management, improvement methodologies, systems, policies and regulations, and you'll know how to apply them in a local government setting.
You'll be a great communicator and collaborator, able to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders and act as a subject matter expert. In addition, you'll be adaptable, able to see the big picture and to cope with conflicting and changing demands, all while ensuring project outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to the required standards.
