Job Title: Raw Material Planner
Location: Peterborough, UK
Contract and Shift details: Permanent, Monday – Friday – 08:30 – 17:00 (Tuesday’s & Wednesdays in the Peterborough office – rest of the week work from home)

About the Role:
As a Raw Material Planning Controller your primary responsibility will be ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective supply of raw materials to manufacturing sites. This role involves planning, coordinating with suppliers and hauliers, and working closely with key stakeholders to support production and meet operational requirements.
You will be responsible for:
* Plan the supply of raw materials to meet production demands, stock levels, and capacity information.
* Collaborate with suppliers and hauliers to arrange deliveries, manage exceptions, and build positive working relationships.
* Work with Procurement to manage purchase contract call-offs and maintain visibility of significant changes in requirements.
* Resolve supplier invoice queries in conjunction with the Central Finance team and ensure consistent management to minimize issues.
* Forge good relationships with manufacturing sites, providing quick responses to changing operational needs.
* Challenge stock variances and work with manufacturing sites to ensure effective stock management.
* Continuously seek process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance efficiency.
About you:
We’re seeking a planner with experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally in food manufacturing. You’ll need to have:
* Solid planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple mills and stay within budget.
* The ability to work effectively, solve problems quickly, and handle administrative tasks like invoice management and contract monitoring.
* A good understanding of production processes and inventory management.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilise spreadsheets and complex operating systems (Essential).
* Proven ability to control third-party suppliers and hauliers.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, quality assurance, and environmental law (Desirable).
Additional Information:
* Hybrid role with at least two days per week in the Peterborough office (Tuesday mandatory).
* Occasional travel to manufacturing sites as required, with a valid driving license being essential.
* Availability during weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
