Do you have expertise in risk modelling, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, used to build technical pricing models in insurance? If you’re brilliant with analysing data and crafting impactful stories, this could be a great opportunity. We’re looking for a Risk Modelling Analyst to join our Technical Pricing Team in AXA Health.
We’re working with the most up-to-date, sophisticated technical pricing methods. Using advanced Generalised Linear Modelling (GLM) and Gradient Boosting Machines (GBM), you’ll identify areas that could impact business profitability. You’ll find target market segments where we can expand our portfolio, within set profitability targets.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
1. Gather and interrogate data and management information (MI) to evaluate and support business profitability.
2. Work with a variety of data sources to investigate emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
3. Evaluate the impact of strategic and tactical initiatives on business performance.
4. Use latest machine learning techniques and technical pricing models to develop an in-depth understanding of risks and dependencies.
5. Using data from internal and external sources, run GLM and GBM to analyse interactions between elements of risk within portfolios.
6. Review, evaluate and propose pricing recommendations across varied AXA Health portfolios.
7. Deliver high quality reports with recommendations for both technical and non-technical audience, to drive business strategy.
8. Collaborate with colleagues across AXA Health, AXA UK and the wider AXA International community, including senior managers.

What you’ll bring:
1. Knowledge or experience of technical pricing, risk modelling, GLM and GBM tools - essential.
2. Strong technical skills, especially in MS Excel, including data analysis and visualisation – essential.
3. Ability to clearly present findings from analyses and support telling stories to a non-technical audience – essential.
4. Numerical and analytical approach.
5. Commercial awareness and understanding of profitability.
6. Experience of SAS Enterprise Guide, Power BI, VBA, SQL and Python.
7. Graduate in a numerate subject such as mathematics, mathematics with actuarial studies, mathematics with finance or economics – preferred, but not essential.
8. Working towards professional insurance or actuarial qualification – such as CII, FIA, FFA, AIA or AFA – preferred, but not essential.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
