Your new company
It is a very exciting time for this multi-academy trust, as they are experiencing a huge period of growth, increasing from 10 schools through to 60 over the coming years and therefore, creating new vacancies in the trust. As the organisation grows, it is imperative that the right people are appointed to not only facilitate this growth but to ensure the continued success of the trust. With a head office in Bury, the trust has an excellent reputation in the Greater Manchester area, having recently moved into new offices due to growth and with further plans for expansion. Over the last 12 months, Hays has recruited over 10 vacancies in the trust, all due to growth, and the latest vacancy is that of an IT Project Manager on a permanent basis.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of IT, the Trust IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of integration projects, from initial market research to the implementation, to ensuring this falls in line with the organisation's wider IT strategy. Due to the growth being experienced at the trust, the successful Project Manager will be managing multiple projects concurrently and therefore liaising with various department leaders, as well as external parties. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the end to end project management from initial research and evaluation to the implementation and integration, which will therefore involve internal stakeholder engagement and external vendor management. Throughout the process of managing a project, you will be responsible for the risk management, ensuring that all risks are mitigated and also completing all project documentation, which will include timelines, deliverables and budget tracking. This is a newly created role for the organisation, therefore, it will give the successful candidate the opportunity to develop this role over time and therefore grow with the trust.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant project management experience where you have been responsible for managing the full project lifecycle. As you will be managing multiple projects concurrently across various areas of the organisation, experience with different IT platforms and systems relating to HR, health and safety, compliance and estate management would be ideal. You must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with both internal and external parties on a daily basis, providing both technical and non-technical project updates. From a qualification perspective, a PMP, Prince2 or equivalent project management certificate would be beneficial. Furthermore, experience working in the education sector, or as a minimum, a passion for this sector, is essential.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be joining a thriving organisation where you will experience further growth and development, therefore allowing you to further develop your skills and knowledge and therefore your career. You are joining a thriving trust during a period of significant growth, therefore becoming a real part of the success story.
