We have a couple of Contract Stress Engineer roles working on Power applications for Naval related products. The roles will require experience of undertaking Stress Engineering on a variety of components to ensure they meet the requirements specifications using FEA tools and hand calculations as follows:
1. Analysis of plastic components for collapse, buckling, fatigue, heat transfer, etc.
2. Analysis for loads from shock.
3. Weld definition for strength and fatigue.
4. Identification of design deficiencies and offer improvement proposals.
5. Build FE Models and compile analysis plans.
6. Report writing and documentation.
It is expected that you will have significant analysis of mechanical components and will have used FEA tools such as Abaqus and ANSYS, along with knowledge of ASME and DNV.
It would be an advantage if you currently hold SC Level Security Clearance; however, you must at least be willing and eligible to undertake this process.
