Role: Industrial Engineer Location: Banbury Salary: £55-60k (Depending on Experience) Type of role: 12 month Fixed Term Contract with potential to transition to permanent and/or extended About the role This position is ideal for individuals passionate about leveraging motion and time management systems, such as MODAPTS and MTM, to design safer, more efficient workplaces and improve operational performance through detailed analysis and innovative solutions, operating within both the ‘physical’ and the ‘virtual’ environments. This role will encompass the complete manufacturing system lifecycle from ‘Concept Phase’, through to ‘Implementation’, ‘Operational’ and finally, ‘End of life’. What you will do Ergonomic Design & Analyses Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify and mitigate risks of workplace injuries. Develop and implement ergonomic solutions to optimize employee comfort and productivity. Design workstation layouts and recommend tools or equipment improvements that promote ergonomic efficiency. Motion and Time Studies Perform detailed motion and time studies using techniques such as ‘MODAPTS’ or ‘MTM’ to standardize work processes. Analyse workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Establish labour standards and optimize resource allocation based on data driven analysis. Process Improvement Evaluate current manufacturing or operational systems and recommend enhancements. Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and other methodologies to minimise waste and maximise efficiency. Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures. Data Analysis and Reporting Use analytical tools and software to monitor performance metrics and create detailed reports. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support decision making. Collaboration and Training Working closely with cross-functional teams, including operation, health and safety, and production, to implement improvements. Train employees on ergonomic best practices, updated workflows, and time management systems like MODAPTS or MTM. Health and Safety Compliance Ensure all proposed solutions adhere to workplace health and safety regulations. Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. About you Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in ergonomics, motion studies, and process optimisation Demonstrable experience gained in a mid / high volume manufacturing / production assembly environment. Expertise in MODAPTS, MTM, or similar time management systems Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Siemens Teamcenter or other relevant design software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies Excellent communication, collaboration skills strong team player Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work at pace in a multi-project environment Capable of presenting Manufacturing Engineering inputs to Senior Executives. Preferred Skills: Advanced knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter, MPP, NX and Visual Factory software Certification in ergonomics or related disciplines (e.g., CPE, CEAS) Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO) Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, or other statistical software) A good understanding of TS16949 and ISO900 Sponsorship is not available so you must have the full right to work in the UK both now, and in the future
