The Role?
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lifting Equipment Engineer / Inspector to join the team in Glasgow on a full-time, permanent basis.
You will be required to carry out the test, repair and inspection of various loose lifting equipment and accessories to LOLER standards within company and client sites as required.
The successful candidate will hold previous experience in a similar position, ideally be LEEA qualified or hold sufficient relevant previous experience and hold a full UK driving license. You will also have a thorough understanding of LOLER. You will be confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, be a strong team player whilst holding the ability to work independently.
A company van, and fuel card will be provided, along with a competitive salary and benefit package.
What will you do?
1. Carry out a thorough examination of a wide range of lifting & manual handling equipment and accessories on client sites and the company's workshop ensuring the equipment complies with the relevant industry standards, legislation and is fit for continued use.
2. Liaise regarding job progress, report any concerns relating to the work scope and any integrity concerns in a timely manner.
3. Produce a clear and concise report detailing all equipment examined, highlighting any defects or recommendations. Carry out risk assessments and method statements as required.
4. Evaluate results of any tests in accordance with applicable standards/ specification and procedures.
5. Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
6. Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems and take an active part in the compliance and improvement of same.
7. Report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to Company processes/ procedures.
Your Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
1. LEEA Foundation / Entry certification or sufficient previous experience within the Lifting / Inspection Industry.
2. Previous experience in writing accurate and concise reports.
3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programmes.
4. Full UK Driving License.
Preferred:
1. Advanced LEEA qualifications are desirable such as Lifting Machines Manual / Power.
