One Years Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) The role is based across two residential care homes both located in St Albans within 15 mins drive of each other. We are currently seeking an experienced Home Manager to join our team on a one years fixed term contract. Role Overview: Stepping in as the Home Manager for our 6 bed and 9 bed residential care homes, you will be at the forefront of ensuring a clean, comfortable, and secure environment for our residents. Your leadership will be pivotal in delivering personalised care that aligns with Nouvita’s core values. You will guide a team of dedicated staff, contributing to the well-being of our 15 long-stay residents with mild to moderate learning difficulties and/or are enduring mental health illness. Day to day duties will include: Providing strong leadership and direction to our care team, ensuring the delivery of person-centered care that meets the individual needs and preferences of our residents. Overseeing all aspects of the home's operations, including staffing, budget management, and regulatory compliance, to ensure the highest standards of care and safety. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with residents, their families, and external stakeholders, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes trust and communication. Leading by example in promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and empowerment, ensuring that each resident is treated with compassion, empathy, and understanding. Conducting regular assessments of residents' care needs and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that all care interventions are evidence-based and effective. Monitoring the quality of care provided through regular audits, evaluations, and feedback mechanisms, implementing improvements and innovations to enhance service delivery. Skills/Experience Required: NVQ Level 5 or Diploma in Health and Social Care Management. Proven experience in a managerial role within a Mental Health/Learning Disability care setting, with a strong understanding of the complexities and challenges associated with mental health conditions. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of care professionals. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices governing mental health care, including the Mental Health Act and CQC standards. A compassionate and person-centred approach to care, with a genuine commitment to promoting the rights, dignity, and well-being of individuals with mental health needs. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. IT proficiency, including experience with care management systems and Microsoft Office Greenwood Cottage and Lavender Lodge has provided support for adults aged 18 with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs for almost 30 years. We offer accommodation and 24-hour care for a total of 15 individuals who require additional support.
