Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to generate significant sales growth within major End Users, via lead identification and working with key distribution partners. This is largely a specification role as once the business is secured, it is vital that specifications are secure to avoid any future switch selling by competitors.
Key Focus and Core Responsibilities:
1. Identifying and hunting prospects within primary markets, working with Marketing to generate awareness of the V12 Brand.
2. A laser focus on prospecting activity (including telephone prospecting) and building a pipeline of opportunities in line with V12’s growth plans.
3. Developing major opportunities into Sales Qualified leads as required by liaising closely with the V12 marketing team to ensure that well-qualified leads are identified, developed into opportunities, and converted to orders recorded in Hubspot CRM.
4. Developing relationships with end-user Health & Safety Managers and Occupational Health professionals to identify and secure product specifications, ensuring that there is a recorded pipeline of H&S and OH contacts with progress reports and specifications produced as required.
5. Developing relationships with multiple key stakeholders within each End-User (Senior Management, Purchasing, Unions, etc.).
6. Utilizing telephone communication as the primary method for engaging & prospecting.
7. Conducting End-user footwear audits – focusing on risk identification and specification via H&S professionals, ensuring that the required number of End-user footwear audits are conducted to the required standard.
8. Taking overall responsibility for nominated existing business within large End Users.
9. Financial lead and lag measures are to be mutually agreed upon together as part of the on-boarding process.
10. Ensuring that activity KPIs and sales growth targets are met, including acquisition of contracts with large “Blue Chip” Companies.
11. Maintaining the sales pipeline from opportunity identification and specification through to order placement – logging anticipated revenue generated each month through the current fiscal year.
12. Delivering anticipated sales growth within key target End-Users.
13. Preventing contract leakage and securing long-term business.
Required Knowledge & Competencies:
1. Previous sales experience, understanding of sales principles and techniques.
2. Proficient in executing sales strategies.
3. Ability to be creative in finding and closing opportunities.
4. Capability to negotiate terms and close deals.
5. Ability to adapt strategies based on changing market conditions or customer needs.
6. Strong drive and motivation to meet and exceed sales targets.
7. Persistence and resilience in the face of rejection or setbacks.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
9. Proven experience of the Whale hunting methodology.
10. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at major end users.
11. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to inform decision-making.
12. Knowledge of the safety footwear industry or related sectors is a plus.
