Greenfield opportunity for an experienced Construction Lawyer to establish and develop a new service line in a thriving firm which already has a base level of construction work it can leverage on day one.
My client is a rapidly growing firm which has turned heads in Leeds, which certainly punches hard against larger brands, and which has quickly established itself in a competitive market. They've a comprehensive list of core services for commercial clients, but conspicuous by its absence is Construction Law and that is therefore their next recruitment priority for 2025.
The Real Estate team is flying, and their client roster includes a range of developers and house builders, such that they know there is work they will receive if they can get a construction lawyer on board. This is a soft landing, so whilst they will want someone to bring their own network of contacts you won't have to be self-supporting. Non-contentious construction is the core focus, but anyone with skills on the contentious side would also be of interest for a conversation about opportunities in the sector as the firm also has a sizeable litigation practice.
You'd be joining a firm with real feel good about it, which has progressive management, and which has real strength and depth of expertise. They have high quality lawyers but not big egos. They maintain a focus on their people, on flexibility, and supporting people to meet their own professional objectives.
It's a very rare chance to be in on a venture fairly early and to make your mark and shape your own team. Package will be agreed based on your offering but this firm certainly isn't afraid to pay well for the expertise it wants.
An experienced big firm construction lawyer who wants less politics and more freedom should excel in this role, whether you're an established partner moving laterally or a Legal Director looking to find your first step into partnership. Alternatively, someone from more of a regional firm or boutique practice will no doubt feel very comfortable arriving in a smaller operation where rolling your sleeves up is expected of everyone.
An exciting opportunity, unique in the Yorkshire market at the moment.
Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
