We are seeking a CDM Advisor to join our Maintenance and Engineering Services team who will be responsible for ensuring project compliance with CDM Regulations. Duties include advising on relevant legislation, conducting CDM competency assessments, and performing site audits on Framework Contractors.

What you’ll be doing:
* Ensure that all work activities are assessed using the CDM Assessment tool to determine if they are maintenance, or the CDM complexity.
* Ensure that CDM strategies are in place and defined duty holders.
* Review the suitability of PCI/Design and Design Risk Management within Maintenance and Engineering Services team.
* Oversee and advise on the preparation of Pre-Construction Information (PCI), and highlight the need for any necessary further information that may be required.
* Ensure that designs comply with Anglian Water’s Management of CDM (MoCDM) and that Design Checklists are suitably complete to meet Safe To Operate (STO) requirements.
* Review the suitability of Construction Phase Plans including adequate management arrangements and welfare provisions where necessary.
* Provide assistance with the review of Risk Assessment and Method Statement on high-level risk activities.
* Conduct CDM audits on projects to ensure that CDM is compliant at design phase and construction phase.
* Provide CDM compliance data for the CDM Team data reports.
What does it take to be successful?
* A qualification in engineering or health and safety
* NEBOSH Certificate (if not Construction Cert., must demonstrate other construction training)
* Experience of working in a multi-discipline design team and of the application of H&S principles in design
* A good understanding of the operational and maintenance requirements of water industry assets
* An understanding of construction processes and procedures
* Membership of an appropriate engineering or health and safety institution
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
* Problem-solving capabilities, flexibility and commitment.
* Good IT skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
