Social Work Team Manager - Assessment Team
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the Assessment Team to work full time for Medway.
The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £49,083 per annum.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage and motivate a staff team ensuring high quality supervision is completed regularly, including case management oversight, timely decision making, and the effective implementation and review of children's plans.
2. Allocate cases within the statutory timescale ensuring assessments, statutory visits and planned reviews have clear objectives and outcomes.
3. Complete and review performance development plans for the team which enhance individual needs and contribute towards staff retention.
4. Effectively use available team performance data to monitor standards and performance and ensure compliance with practice standards and procedures.
5. Supervise students on placement and Newly Qualified Social Workers in their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, where appropriate.
6. Contribute to the management of the staffing budget for the team by approving and committing expenditure within your delegated authority.
7. Support the safer recruitment and selection of new staff.
8. Chair strategy, review, planning, professional and network meetings as appropriate.
9. Keep up to date with the Council's organisational policies, government guidance, legislation, research and national trends.
10. Deputise and support the Group Manager where necessary on all aspects relating to the development of the service.
11. Perform other activities as may be agreed consistent with the nature of the job.
Requirements:
1. A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
3. Registered or eligible for registration.
