The Children’s First Contact Team (CFCT) is Flintshire County Council’s front door to statutory services provided by the Local Authority. We are currently looking for additional staff. The role and responsibility held by the CFCT includes triaging all referrals received by the portfolio while applying a quick risk analysis to determine if children are at risk of significant harm (child protection) or require support services under Child in Need services. S47 investigations are also coordinated in the Team. This fast-paced work then moves on quickly to other services or Teams. Pre Birth Risk assessments and Private Law work through the completion of Child Impact Analysis and Section 7 and Section 37 reports are also held with the CFCT. The role requires knowledge and analytical writing as well as the ability to effectively engage with families. Flintshire has a strong commitment to working with children and families, a person-centred approach, and very strong working relationships with our partner agencies. We offer Hybrid working.
Flintshire prides itself on being a council that performs highly for its local communities and is motivated by a set of strong social values. Flintshire is part of the Clwydian range and is an area of natural beauty. Beaches, markets, good restaurants, and eateries are all in proximity. Here at our Flint base, we have excellent access to the high street, Leisure Centre, Cinema, and Library. Flint is a Dementia Friendly Town and has a very proactive community. It is also a site of historic significance, and just a short walk away is Flint Castle, which was built during King Edward I’s campaign to conquer Wales. A new senior officer for Children’s social care has recently been appointed and is keen to ensure that children and families receive the right service at the right time, working hard to keep children with their families where safe to do so.
