Today our work is primarily in Glasgow where Saur operates the Wastewater Treatment Works in Dalmuir on behalf of Scottish Water, Scotland's national water and wastewater provider. We're currently hiring a Mechanical Technician, for SAUR UK, based in Glasgow, Scotland. Mission: The main responsibilities of this role involve executing planned and corrective mechanical maintenance tasks to uphold the reliable condition and strong performance of various plant equipment at the SAUR Services Glasgow site. Tasks include identifying faults and determining root causes, rectifying defects, and promptly resolving breakdowns during emergencies. Collaboration with maintenance, operations, and process departments is essential. Responsibilities : Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Technician responsibilities will be: Implement scheduled planned maintenance by addressing work orders generated through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Identify and report abnormal equipment behaviour or critical process situations. Install and repair various types of industrial equipment and components. Respond to equipment failures/breakdowns and implement necessary corrective measures. Offer suggestions for enhancing plant safety, reliability, and overall efficiency. Use investigative techniques to troubleshoot problems and determine root causes effectively. Conduct disassembly, repair, overhaul, and testing of diverse mechanical equipment. Requirements Graduated in Mechanical Engineering (SCQF 7) Demonstrate a thorough understanding of industrial mechanical equipment. Proficient understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Capability to interpret mechanical and process schematics, including P&ID Thorough comprehension of the importance of safe work systems, such as risk assessment, method statements, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work systems Proficiency in operating handheld computerized equipment (PDA) Knowledge of heavy industry operations. Strong understanding of safe work systems, risk assessment, and method statements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Committed, self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to make independent decisions when necessary. Flexible, responsive to business needs Holds a current driver's license.
