What is the opportunity?
Mathieson Consulting, a subsidiary of RBC Brewin Dolphin, is a consultancy firm which provides actuarial pensions advice for use in expert witness work. This primarily involves divorce work, but we also provide advice for employment tribunal cases and similar in respect of loss of pension rights.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join our Birmingham office on a permanent basis. Within this role you will assist with the day-to-day administration for the team, completing a range of administration tasks as requested to support team activities.
What will you do?
* Responsible for maintaining finance and accounts, including debtor management.
* Manage ongoing case files.
* Answer incoming telephone calls.
* Manage incoming office emails and E-Reader.
* General record keeping, electronic filing and the issuing of invoices.
* Management of Part 25s.
* Management of follow up reports.
* Respond to standard quotation requests.
* Assist colleagues in general office administration as necessary.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
* Intermediate knowledge of MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
* Genuine interest in the Pensions sector, with a willingness to develop within the Financial Services sector.
* Good attention to detail, maintaining accuracy when completing written and numerical based tasks.
* Clear and concise communication skills – oral and written, with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and colleagues.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work within restricted timescales.
* Able to prioritise workload and identify when they need support to achieve goals.
* Flexible and reliable team member and willing to support more junior and senior members of the team as required.
Nice-to-have
* Previous administration experience is desirable, but not essential – additional training will be provided.
* A willingness to learn new approaches to accomplishing work activities.
