This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to expand their current dialysis skills in the health care setting, as a band 3 dialysis Assistant you will be learning how to support the delivery of Haemodialysis to our outpatient’s on the dialysis unit at the Alan Squirrel Renal Unit at Margate
You will be required to safely establish patients on to dialysis and undertake their care according to local protocols and procedures. Looking after these group of patients who require treatment three times a week
Use own advanced skills competence and experience, to support patients in developing dialysis skills (shared care), and support new staff joining the service to achieve the required competencies to carry out safe dialysis. Work with the trained nurses in supervising and mentoring the junior dialysis assistants
You will be required to work Monday to Saturday over a roster pattern no nights involved apart working on a twilight / evening shift and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
Our shifts are Early (06:30-14:30) and Late (11:40-19:30). Long Days (06:30-19:30), Evenings (16:30-00:20),
Within this role you will be looking after patients who have a chronic condition who attend the unit three times a week
We will provide the in-house training you require to safely carry out your role in dialysis which includes specific dialysis training and further development opportunities. You will have a registered nurse as a mentor while you are orientated to the unit and support your learning.
