WASTE PLANT OPERATIVE - (Within WASTE MANAGEMENT)
You MUST be a Driver for this role - due to location (no public transport)
SHIFTS: DAYS & NIGHT shifts (From: 6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am)
LOCATION: Knottingley WF11 0HP
This role is a Temporary role STARTING ASAP!!
HRGO Recruitment are recruiting for Plant Operatives to work in a busy Waste Plant within the Knottingley WF11 area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Effectively and continuously monitor all plant processing.
* Sort machines and screens making sure they are clean and operating to their maximum efficiency.
* Ensure all processes meet safety and quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Plan and manage emergency protocols related to waste treatment processes.
* Respond to any m/c issues, plant bottlenecks or blockages & react to plant alarms rectifying or reporting accordingly.
Please note: This role is very dusty within the plant operation, PPE Masks are used in this area.
Overview:
* Make sure that all landings, walkways and stairs are kept free of debris at all times and that any work being carried out is done so in a manner that does not restrict the safe access to keep effective checks on all plant machines and equipment.
* Ensure all landings and machines are kept clean at all times; any areas that are causing spillage should be reported and/or rectified as quickly and effectively as possible.
* At the start and end of every shift, complete the relevant paperwork accurately to confirm that an effective shift handover has taken place.
* Act upon any issues found accordingly at all times or report as required.
* Operate the company FLT as required (if trained).
* Keep all machines free of a build-up of dust.
* Relieve other plant operative roles as required to cover break times and holiday cover.
* Monitor all waste streams throughout the shift and address any adverse variations quickly and effectively.
* Assist Maintenance during plant downtimes ensuring supervision or familiarity with task requirements and safety needs.
Key Skills:
* A good knowledge of health and safety practices.
* Possess good leadership skills and abilities.
* Hold a current FLT license.
* Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Possess good I.T skills.
* Possess logical fault-finding skills.
* Ability to manage multiple workloads simultaneously.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* Have a good understanding of the 5s culture.
