* Skilled in painting, decorating, joinery, basic electrics, and basic plumbing
* Maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in safe and clean working order
* Carry out mandatory checks on fire and lighting equipment and provide evidence of such checks
* Address repairs and renewals promptly, as reported by nursing staff or residents
* Maintain and troubleshoot systems, equipment, and plant within the home, reporting unresolved issues to the Home Manager
* Keep up-to-date with maintenance requirements for nursing homes
* Check maintenance books on all floors daily and address issues immediately
* Liaise with the Home Manager daily to plan and update on tasks
* Arrange outside contractors when needed with approval from the Home Manager
* Undertake fire safety training for staff and ensure fire systems are functional
* Conduct fire drills, check fire appliances, doors, alarm systems, and emergency lighting regularly
* Ensure the Nurse Call System and pressure-relieving mattresses are working correctly
* Carry out room and corridor redecorations as requested by the Home Manager
