The Team
The successful candidate would join the Communications Regulatory part of the Consumer/Communications/Commercial Content Regulatory team which plays an important role in our European Legal team. The team works on a wide range of complex and high profile issues, in a fast-paced environment, working across a range of consumer, communications and commercial content areas.
The Role
The successful candidate will be a core part of the EU Legal team focusing on and specialising in telecoms regulatory matters, reporting into EU Legal Direct Messaging lead.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting business teams to ensure ongoing compliance with new and existing legislation across the Europe region.
2. Supporting our product legal team to review new products and features against relevant law and guidance.
3. Ensuring the consistent handling of regulatory enquiries and investigations.
4. Assessing risk and coordinating with the wider business as a trusted adviser on compliance and risk management issues.
This is a growing team, as the business adapts to meet the challenges of an increasingly complex European legal regulatory framework.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Ability to work on a wide range of complex and high profile issues, in a fast-paced environment, working across a range of telecoms regulatory issues.
2. Ability to take responsibility and drive forward matters independently (with ad hoc support from manager, as needed).
3. Ability to engage and form good relationships with a wide range of other legal and business stakeholders and multi-task more generally.
4. Willingness to learn and get up to speed on a wide range of EU Telecoms regulatory rules we work with day to day.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Relevant in-house telecoms regulatory experience for online messaging services (ideally) or traditional telecoms services.
2. Relevant EEA and/or UK telecoms regulatory experience.
3. Experience of having worked for a platform provider of online messaging services.
4. Experience of having worked on regulatory matters across the EEA and in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
5. Experience of having worked on various types of regulatory matters - providing regulatory advice, working on regulatory enquiries and investigations, incidents.
6. Experience of working across various legal frameworks in the digital space - privacy, telecoms, security.
