Rate: £18.01/hr PAYE (Inside IR35)
Description
1. Conduct static and dynamic evaluations of various vehicles to ensure products meet our European customers' needs.
2. Experience of CAD SW packages would be advantageous.
3. Liaise with Test/Design engineers to conduct tests to company Standards & local operating procedures.
4. Assemble / disassemble parts, components or vehicles for static & dynamic test activities.
5. Maintenance of Test Vehicle Fleet to include safety check, retrofit, fault finding, repair.
6. Instrumentation set-up including dataloggers and video cameras.
7. Support report writing.
8. Learn bespoke systems required to fulfil role.
Deliverables
1. Preparation / building / maintenance of vehicles or components for test in line with local procedures and Engineering Manuals.
2. Support Testing in static and dynamic conditions to gather accurate, timely, and quality test data/results.
3. Support Evaluation and concern identification including liaison with Test Engineer.
4. Support delivery of Key Performance Indicators for the section.
5. Use skills to provide support to other sections as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Training Requirements
1. Ideally C&G / BTEC L3 in mechanical or automotive engineering with a recognised apprenticeship.
2. Fundamental understanding of vehicle architecture.
3. Fundamental understanding of vehicle dis-assembly, assembly, & maintenance techniques.
4. Vehicle system knowledge with the ability to fault find.
5. Electronic / Electrical background (automotive).
6. Experience within vehicle or component test environments is preferred but not essential.
7. Understanding of basic component measurement techniques preferred but not essential.
8. FLT licence preferred but not essential.
9. Basic Machining / Welding / Fabrication preferred but not essential.
10. Basic Computer literacy (word processing).
11. Fully proficient in the fundamental practical mechanical / Electrical skills required for this role.
12. Ability to work safely and to comply with legal and company safety policies.
13. A working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
14. Excellent organisational skills.
15. Strong attention to detail.
16. Be able to work independently to manage and prioritise their own workload.
