Job description:
We have an opportunity for a highly experienced Head of Build to join the Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will you will manage and lead the Build and Sub Assembly teams to supply the on time and highest quality assemblies to the Race Team. We aspire to be the absolute best in every aspect of our team. What you will be doing:
* Manage the Build Assembly Team to ensure all assemblies and parts supplied to the Race Team are built to the highest possible standards in often tight timescales
* Manage the Sub Assembly Team to look after areas including brakes, steering, hydraulics, uprights, dampers etc.
* Manage the inventory and tracking of built and used assemblies
* Manage the service schedules and requirements of sub-assemblies
* Manage the shipment of ‘late freight’ shipments to the events
* Oversee assembly deliveries to/from selected Technical partners
* Work with the Design Office to establish build & service processes
* Implement processes within the Build Team to ensure the ERP system is accurate and up to date
* Build solid relationships with all departments, improve departmental functionality and drive forward continuous improvement
* Develop and report departmental KPIs
* Ensure the Build and Sub Assembly teams are motivated and engaged to maximise performance whilst complying to all company policies
* Develop a thorough working knowledge of the company’s ERP system and be a champion for its ongoing development
Requirements
* Extensive motorsport technical practical experience
* Demonstrate a high level of technical understanding and mechanical assembly competence in a motorsport environment
* Ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks
* Ability to organise tasks to achieve extremely tight deadlines whilst reacting to changes in priorities
* Demonstrable problem solving skills
* Thorough understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
* Strong leadership skills with experience of leading others and developing teams
* Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors
* Outstanding communicative and collaborative skills to guarantee cross-departmental integration
* Experience of MS applications including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
* Previous ERP experience is an advantage
* Flexible attitude with the ability to work within a team in a high pressure rapidly changing environment
