Job description:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Application Engineer to join the Team based out of our Addlestone Office in Surrey on a full time and permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all application engineering processes are in compliance with standards, norms and Schindler Group directions (ON, TK, ESS, etc.). They will also direct and organise resources to deliver financial and quality targets and provide more cost-effective solutions while achieving first pass yield and on time delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Perform technical check of Application Engineering solutions provided by Application Engineering engineers & perform the training of engineers.
2. Process PDM Notification (TK, ESS etc.).
3. Perform risk analysis and prepare the documentation for deviation requests.
4. Execution of offers for custom lift and ordering of pre-engineered solutions to customised lifts.
5. Ensure timely, reliable, cost effective and compliant engineering services through the MDC.
6. Design and configure to develop new solution for custom lift components and complete lift replacement products.
7. Carry out detailed process design calculations and design specifications.
8. Create layout drawings according to guidelines and standard requirements.
9. Perform final configuration to produce bill of materials.
10. Avoid pre/post gaps due to materials, logistics or engineering.
11. Carry out Four Eyes Principal and Application Engineering check before releasing drawings and ordering of a lift.
12. Execution of Risk Analysis and monitor deviation to EC Type Examination.
13. Technical support to internal and external customers, travelling to site for site survey and troubleshooting.
14. Attend design clients meeting when required & manage large and complex projects.
15. Perform technical clarifications.
16. Solve and monitor claims (coordination with project / claims managers).
17. Prepare and define documents required for site folders and O&M manuals.
Profile description:
Candidate Requirements:
1. University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelors or higher & internal Application Engineering training (tools, methods).
2. Significant experience in engineering design, installation, and technical calculation.
3. Very good product knowledge and CAD (preferably also 3D).
4. Relevant experience with minimum of 4 years in the lift industry.
5. Proficient in various SAP transactions, Microsoft Office (including Outlook).
6. Experience in using AutoCAD, LIFTdesigner PNC, Intranet, MODB and Lotus Notes database.
7. Results focused and customer orientated with good commercial awareness.
8. Extensive technical skills and strong written and verbal skills.
