Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Be responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluation of all patient care using CPA framework and leading staff to provide the highest standards of care.
Take a lead role in ensuring nursing input to multi-disciplinary meetings.
Ensure the reports provided by the clinical staff to support specialist placements for those with complex needs and for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers hearings are of a high standard and provide the necessary information in a timely way.
Provide specialist consultation and advice to the nursing team, multi-disciplinary team, clients and their families, user groups, statutory and non-statutory agencies.
Adopt an appropriate style with staff for achieving group objectives monitoring and evaluation workloads. Providing vision and inspiration through effective clinical leadership to ensure that the skills and competencies of staff are actively developed.
Be conversant and proactive with Government legislation pertaining to the Mental Health Act, CPA, National Service Framework, Clinical Governance and NHS Plan.
Encourage, promote and maintain effective communication with the Community Mental Health Teams to promote continuity of clinical care.
Work with the lead from the Therapy Team to ensure provision of therapeutic activities, ensuring a range of interventions are available for clients on a daily basis.
To liaise with other disciplines involved in the provision of therapeutic interventions on a regular basis to ensure seamless care for clients.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse/Occupational Therapist/Clinical Psychologist/Social Work qualification
* NMC or HCPC registered

* Qualification in a Therapy
Experience

* Management experience
* Experience in leadership role
* Experience of developing and providing teaching programmes
* Experience of contributing to and developing policies
