We have an exciting opportunity to join our Field Team in Bedford as a Lead Team Member. If you want to be a part of the climate change challenge, in a team of dedicated professionals, then this is the role for you.
In East Anglia we want to create a diverse workplace where people are respected, valued and listened to. We’re all different, and by embracing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) we can become an equal opportunity employer where jointly we all grow and learn together.
It is our ambition to champion diversity through building a workforce as diverse as the communities we serve.
As a Lead Team Member in our local Field Teams, you’ll be maintaining our river and flood defence assets and responding to flood and pollution incidents. You’ll be working as part of a diverse team and will help to carry out routine maintenance, efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

- Carrying out regular checks and inspections of equipment, such as tools, personal protective equipment and vehicles.
- Communicating professionally with our partners and members of the public.
You’ll participate in our 24-hour call-out rosters, responding with your team to operate assets, playing an active role in protecting homes and businesses from flood risk.
The Operations Field Teams operates on a 9-day fortnight.

The Operations Field Teams sit within the Local Operations directorate and the East Anglia FCRM Operations department (Flood Risk and Coastal Management).
They work closely with our Asset Performance Teams to deliver a maintenance programme on rivers and watercourses across the area. We respond to flooding and environmental incidents both day and night.
We also work across the country when called upon to assist other areas in incident response and environmental incidents.
