Junior Design Engineer
Clarke Welding Services Limited is a long-established welding, pipefitting and fabrication company that supplies coded welders, industrial pipework, fabrications, maintenance support, and new installation projects to many of the largest companies in the area.
We are recruiting for a Junior Design Engineer to work from our offices/workshop at Woolpit Business Park, Suffolk (IP30 9UP). Site visits will also be required in this role, which will involve busy industrial sites with heights or entering confined spaces.
You will be working with our design engineer and project managers, assisting with the design of new pipework installations, skids, secondary steelwork, access platforms, chutes, hoppers, and other items we manufacture for our clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting site visits to survey and measure for new projects.
* Leading various design projects from start to finish.
* CAD design using Solidworks and AutoCAD for access platforms, pipework, structural steelwork, and other fabrications.
* Producing accurate and easy-to-read drawing packs.
* Producing QA of completed works, e.g., weld maps.
* Supporting the manufacturing team both on-site and off-site.
* Any other duties as required.
Required skills:
* Organised and thorough with a high attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Experience using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
* Ability to survey and measure to a high degree of accuracy.
* A ‘Can do’ attitude with a passion to succeed.
Desirable:
* A strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, pipefitting, and general engineering principles.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ideally, a HNC/CertHE (Level 4) or higher qualification in engineering.
This role is advertised as full-time, and our normal working hours are 7.30-16.00 Monday to Friday.
Holiday: 25 days + Bank holidays

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
