Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced VAT and accounts manager to join our rapidly expanding Chartered Accountancy practice, someone with at least 3 years practice-based experience in the UK. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have excellent software skills in MS Office and a good working knowledge of UK VAT legislation.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our clients VAT processes. Your duties will include:
1. Preparing VAT returns from source documentation.
2. Analysing VAT data and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
3. Managing VAT reporting and filing requirements.
4. Reviewing and reconciling VAT accounts.
5. Providing support to junior staff members on VAT issues.
6. Keeping up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and communicating any updates to the relevant team members.
There will also be the opportunity to assist the team with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, along with self assessment and corporation tax returns.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
1. Strong analytical skills to analyse data and identify any discrepancies or issues.
2. Experience with data entry and using accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks for recording financial transactions.
3. Experience with different VAT schemes.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
6. Managing own workload and overseeing other colleagues' work.
