About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for providing excellent customer service. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
Main Duties
1. Diagnose and repair automotive issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
3. Utilise hand tools and power tools to assemble and disassemble vehicle components.
4. Read and interpret schematics to understand vehicle systems and troubleshoot problems effectively.
5. Conduct equipment repairs as needed to ensure optimal performance of workshop tools.
6. Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
7. Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle’s condition and required repairs.
8. Assist in heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work on various makes and models of vehicles.
3. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
4. Familiarity with welding techniques is advantageous but not essential.
5. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients.
6. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with automotive repair work.
7. A valid driving licence is required; additional certifications in automotive repair are a plus.
8. Candidate must be in the UK.
