What you'll be doing \n
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about lifestyle, health and wellbeing publishing to join the wonderful Yellow Kite team at Hodder & Stoughton. You will be project managing mono books on the list from manuscript to final files, working closely with commissioning editors. You’ll be responsible for, among other things: \n

1. Booking and briefing freelance copyeditors, proofreaders and indexers, and checking their work \n
2. Working closely with authors and agents, keeping them well informed about the publication process \n
3. Managing and ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day editorial admin for the Yellow Kite team \n
4. Collating and checking proofs \n
5. Proofreading and signing off covers for print \n
6. Preparing and\/or checking illustrations and permissions \n
7. Handling second edition paperbacks \n
8. Briefing and checking ebooks \n
9. Reviewing and adapting cover copy \n
10. Working on advance sales materials \n
11. Acting as a point of contact between the editorial, art and production teams \n \n \n
Who we are looking for \n
You will have at least one year’s editorial experience in overseeing books through the process from manuscript acceptance to print (ideally in non-fiction). You will be: \n

12. Highly organised and a good problem-solver \n
13. Great at time management with the ability to prioritise a high workload, manage conflicting deadlines and keep a cool head under pressure \n
14. An excellent proofreader with a meticulous eye for detail \n
15. A good communicator – diplomatic, and confident in chasing other departments, freelancers and authors as necessary \n
16. Motivated and enthusiastic, with a ‘can-do’ attitude \n
17. Passionate about lifestyle, health, wellness, cookery, spiritual wellbeing and personal development books \n
18. Competent in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Biblio would be an advantage \n \n
