We are on the lookout for a dynamic and detail-oriented Internal Control Accountant to drive excellence in our Internal Control Assurance programme. So, what’s the job about? This role is all about keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be at the heart of our efforts to ensure the Internal Control programme works as it should. You will be instrumental in assessing, challenging, and strengthening our Internal Control Framework, spanning Financial, Non-Financial, and IT general control categories. You’ll work closely with the Head of PRC, contributing to the development and ongoing management of a robust Internal Control framework that underpins the annual Board Declaration in our accounts. As the go-to expert for control owners, you’ll provide advice, guidance, and recommendations for best practices, ensuring controls are effectively operated throughout the year. You’ll also help them identify areas for improvement, find ways to make things more efficient, and make sure our Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs) are always up to date. Your role will also involve coordinating the annual control self-certification exercise, analysing results, and documenting findings that drive continuous improvement. Collaboration will be at the heart of what you do, as you support the delivery of the Internal Control strategy across the Group, working on exciting projects alongside stakeholders across the organisation. We’re looking for someone with exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex financial and non-financial concepts into clear, actionable insights. Finance degree or part-qualified Accountant (AAT, ACA, CIMA, or similar) Understanding of controls auditing, either Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO or similar control frameworks. Keen focus on accuracy, completeness, consistency, and efficiency of data handling. Familiar with risk management methodology, frameworks, and techniques. Commercial awareness; the ability to learn and understand the business units and structure work around the day-to-day requirements of all stakeholders. Confident user of technology, IT systems, and applications including Excel, data warehouses, and ERP systems (ideally Dynamics AX). A strong communicator at all levels. Enjoys working with detail and helping others to understand its relevance but can summarise details to aid understanding. Likes to challenge processes and practices that are inefficient or illogical. Constantly looks at ways of improving business processes. A strong motivation to achieve, a well-organised and structured approach. A positive and committed attitude, with the ability to collaborate with peers and stakeholders with enthusiasm and passion.
