Role: Senior Learning Mentor
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000

The Role of a Senior Learning Mentor:
As a senior learning mentor, you will be required to provide support for pupils with a pastoral approach and will be responsible for supporting with learning. You will be working with students with additional needs with a barrier to their learning. You must get to know the needs of pupils, engage parents and guardians and also be required to complete home visits and delivery of initial work packs for students that can not attend School sometimes. A pro active and empathetic approach is needed.
The School:
This Provision caters for pupils between 11-16 who are permanently excluded or otherwise cannot access a mainstream School. Young people in the setting are referred to the PRU by schools, academies or the local authority. Pupils in the School study Maths, English and Science as part of their academic curriculum but also attend therapeutic interventions, cooking, sports, outdoor education and PSHE.
Day to Day responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver pastoral and SEND support to pupils
- Deliver whole group sessions across several subjects
- Delivery of intervention essions
- Supervision of pupils displaying challenging behaviour and taking time away from lesson to suppor their mental health needs.
- Attend to pupils’ personal needs and provide advice to assist in their social, health and hygiene development
- Support the teacher with the development and implementation of individual plans to support with student's behaviour
