Manchester City Council is looking for an individual with good all round procurement experience and with a desire to progress their career in a council with a reputation for rising to the biggest challenges.
With a large pipeline of diverse projects this is a fantastic opportunity to exercise your full range of Procurement skills including market research, supplier identification, tendering, contract negotiation as well as support services to undertake post-contract supplier performance and contractual adherence.
The role holder will manage a team of Procurement Officers and oversee and deliver a portfolio of procurement projects on a council wide basis. Providing leadership to resource planning, procurement and commissioning in a cost-effective and efficient procurement service that puts contracts in place that deliver real improvements to the lives of Manchester’s residents.

Technical requirements
- Significant experience of managing Procurement and Contracts.
- Qualified to Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS level) or, equivalent level of educational background or experience.
- Thorough knowledge of City Council policies, procedures, standing orders, financial regulations and UK Procurement Legislation in relation to the procurement function.
