Position: Learning Support Assistant
Salary: up to £13.75 per hour
Age Range: 4-18 years, primary and secondary sites

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Assistant to join the team at a specialist school catering for children aged 4-18 with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties. The majority of the students have needs such as autism, downs syndrome, spech and language difficulties, and some physical disabilities. You will support students throughout their school day, which can involve classroom learning, outside play, sensory room time, time in the hydropool, arrival and pick up with parents and lunch times.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Support students across both primary and secondary ages, so a flexibility to work with various ages is essential.
* Provide tailored support for students with a range of complex needs.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
* Help manage students’ individual care and emotional needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
* Always uphold safeguarding protocols and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students with a range of complex needs.
* Strong behaviour management.
* Flexibility to work across both primary and secondary sites
* Willingness to engage in activities such as hydrotherapy or using sensory rooms.
* Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment.
