Year 3 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - OL16, Rochdale
Full-Time Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Autism and ADHD in a primary school setting in Rochdale (OL16).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN) in Year 3.
2. Supporting the pupil with autism and ADHD, ensuring they can engage effectively in their learning.
3. Assisting the pupil with classroom activities, adapting lessons to meet their individual needs.
4. Helping to manage the pupil's behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
5. Supporting social and emotional development, promoting positive interactions with peers.
6. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies and individual education plans (IEPs).
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience working with children with special needs, particularly autism and ADHD, is essential.
2. Understanding of effective strategies for supporting pupils with SEN.
3. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to meeting the pupil's needs.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
5. Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced classroom environment.
6. A positive attitude and commitment to the pupil's development.
Qualifications:
1. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
2. Experience working with pupils with autism and ADHD is preferred.
3. An up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
Hours & Pay:
1. Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
2. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
