Entity: Production & Operations Job Family Group: Wells Group Job Description: The Advisor - Drilling and Operations is part of ConneXus, a central team of engineers and senior advisors that resolves technical cases to support global well engineering and operations, and which curates knowledge from wells lessons learned and technical expertise. It is also the name of a digital platform which supports the team, through technical case management and the management of global wells lessons learned and ideal ways of working. You will be accountable for Drilling Engineering and Operations Functional Excellence, supporting Discipline Capability, Technology and Strategy Advancement and underpinning our external reputation. You will provide expert level technical recommendations and integrated differential solutions to enable the businesses to succeed. A rewarding individual contributor role, Advisors support teams delivering in the businesses, and have a substantial impact on business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist drilling and operational technical support to the business to positively impact near and medium-term delivery of wells through the support of safe, compliant, reliable and efficient engineering designs and operations in the businesses. Act as the technical ambassador for their discipline both inside and outside of bp. Develop and maintain the long-term technology needs and strategy for drilling and operations and communicates the strategy as appropriate (e.g., to suppliers). Develop and maintain a view of the strategic direction of other major operating companies that are highly active in their discipline area. Provide assurance and strategic advice to P&C for technical course content. Act as a mentor for senior technical staff. Candidate requirements Degree qualified with strong history in drilling engineering and drilling operations across a variety of environments and well types. Deep knowledge of the well planning and execution processes. Demonstrates growth, self-awareness and integrity. Puts themself in the “shoes of the engineer”.
