Position Overview:
The Quality Supervisor is critical to overseeing the site inspection team and ensuring that all testing, certification, and calibration processes are executed with precision.
This role deputises for the Quality Leader and is responsible for assessing and developing inspector competencies, managing calibration for site equipment, and handling certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Competency Assessment: Evaluate and update inspector competency matrices, plan training, and assign inspectors based on skill and project needs.
- Calibration Oversight: Lead and manage site calibration processes, ensuring all equipment remains within compliance.
- Certification & Documentation: Serve as the site’s responsible person for certification queries, approve concessions, and issue Declarations of Conformity based on vendor certifications.
- Inspection & Test Plans: Develop and ensure inspection and test plans for manufactured and assembled equipment are in place and completed prior to product dispatch.
- Quality Investigations: Support root cause analysis and quality investigations for both customer and supplier quality issues, generating detailed reports as needed.
- Quality Management System Support: Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System’s certifications, including development, internal, and external audits.
- Hazardous Area Compliance: Maintain and oversee documentation for hazardous area equipment inspections per applicable standards.
- Liaison & Communication: Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and certification teams to ensure quality standards and support for inspection activities. Collaborate with external bodies like calibration service providers and certification bodies when required.
Required Background:
The ideal candidate has a robust background in inspection or quality engineering with experience in certification and hazardous area compliance. A commitment to quality engineering professionalism is essential, along with strong organisational, supervisory, and communication skills.
