Your next role
We are looking for an Assistant Team Manager in the Community Led Support Team.
As an Assistant Team Manager you will support the Team Manager to drive and lead the professionals in the Adult Service team, promoting strengths based, outcome focussed practice in order to deliver the duties and principles of the Care Act (2014).
Recognising the importance of the wellbeing principle as defined by the Care Act (2014) you will ensure all professionals offer a relational and person centred approach to practice, to ensure that people that access Care and Support are enabled to live their best life.
As Assistant Team Manager, you will support and promote our focus on quality assurance, value the importance of coproduction and seek out the voice of the person in all aspects of service delivery. You will work with the Team Manager to ensure delivery against key team and service performance targets, support the efficiency agenda and embed processes to ensure teams are well led and high performing.
Supporting the Team Manager the Assistant Team Manager will ensure everyone receives effective and regular, reflective supervision, the team’s absence and recruitment requirements are well managed and everyone is provided with the right support, challenge and learning opportunities to remain competent in their role.
To be considered for the post you must hold:
1. Diploma or Degree Level Qualification in relevant area
2. Post Graduate qualification in field of practice
You must hold a formal social work degree and be Social Work England registered to apply for this post.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
Like all other local authorities, we are experiencing an increase in demand. As an organisation we know our Adults’ Services are on a rapid improvement journey which is why last year we started making big changes across the service to provide the best care for children and great conditions for our staff. This started with us recruiting an entirely new leadership team of experienced, forward thinking managers who are driving changes in the service and we aim to be one of the best Adults’ Services in the country.
A practitioner-specific, Swindon-specific induction programme, aimed at providing you with the information you need regarding the policies and procedures of Adult Social Care at Swindon Borough Council.
The induction programme incorporates a blend of face-to-face activities and e-learning modules aimed at consolidating and reviewing your knowledge of the key areas.
These key areas include:
1. understanding how to use our case management system
2. understanding the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance policies and procedures
3. understanding and using a strength-based approach
Improvements include:
1. Multi-million pound investment in staff and support
2. Significant restructure creating smaller social worker teams
3. New intuitive IT system to cut down on desk time and make mobile working the norm
4. High standards for management practice, support and supervision for staff
5. Listening to our social workers by holding regular social work forums
6. Implemented Liquid Logic.
