Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
* Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating Main Contracts and Subcontracts to ensure favourable commercial terms.
* Cost Management: Break down estimates into cost budgets and monitor project expenditure.
* Tender & Procurement: Source, tender, and procure subcontractor and supplier packages.
* Payment Applications: Prepare and issue Applications for Payment, while also assessing and approving subcontractor and supplier payments.
* Value project variations, changes, and compensation events, ensuring all necessary substantiation is provided.
* Prepare delay notifications, extensions of time, and cost impact assessments.
* Support the preparation of loss and expense claims, ensuring additional sums due are properly calculated and justified.
* Work with site teams to create Cost-Value-Forecasts (CVF) and track financial performance.
* Advise operations teams on cost implications, risks, and commercial strategies for projects.
* Assist in maintaining Gantt Charts and project timelines to reflect changes and progress.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
* Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
* Background in demolition, asbestos removal, geotechnical, or civil engineering projects is desirable.
