Our Building Services team are looking for a Electrical Engineer to join the team on-site at one of our projects in London.
Purpose of the Role: To undertake planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs and new installation work covering a wide range of electrical equipment, services, systems and buildings associated with the running of a large hospital.
You’ll:
1. Support Operations Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the hospital.
2. Work safely on ELV/LV and generated electrical systems in accordance with all statutory electrical regulations and health and safety legislation as appointed Competent Person (LV) for Skanska Facility Services.
3. Take responsibility for the maintenance of hospital equipment, plant, services and systems including inspection and testing of electrical equipment and installations including portable appliances.
4. Carry out electrical installations for new work or alterations in compliance with IEE Regulations, HSWA, HTM’s and any other applicable regulations or legislation.
5. Be able to carry out basic mechanical services works to a competent level as outlined in the electrical to mechanical conversion course on plant, equipment and services.
6. Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners and liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required.
7. Specify and where required source and order specialist materials and equipment required for the task within the Estates Department.
8. Be responsible for own professional development and supervision of apprentices/trainee/support workers.
Minimum Requirements:
1. BTEC/HNC or City & Guilds Craft certificate or equivalent.
2. A recognised apprenticeship.
3. Certificate in 18th Edition IEE Regulation (Current).
4. As defined by the latest edition of The Electrical Safety Code for Low Voltage Systems for Competent Person (LV).
5. Experience of building maintenance and systems.
6. Experience of working in a hospital environment.
7. Experience of working on specialist hospital equipment.
8. Experience of lone working.
9. Knowledge of hospital specifics (HTM’s).
10. Plan and organise own activities and other straightforward activities, some ongoing.
11. Communicate technical issues to other maintenance staff and explain technical issues to other staff and patients.
12. Supervise maintenance assistants, check and evaluate work undertaken by either SFS staff or their specialist sub-contractors.
