Job overview
We are pleased to announce the opportunity for experienced, qualified Advanced Paramedic Practitioners (Urgent and Emergency Care) to join the team at Hastings. This role will require flexibility in adopting new ways of working to embrace the four pillars of advanced practice.
Main duties of the job
The main role of an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner (Urgent and Emergency Care) is to provide expertise in urgent and emergency care to promote improved patient outcomes and experience. Responsibilities include:
1. Utilising an extended scope of clinical practice and formulary to assess and manage undifferentiated patients across a multitude of clinical settings.
2. Providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support.
3. Facilitating education as a subject matter expert.
4. Enhancing practice outcomes through research, audit, and service development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role involves a varied job plan, including:
1. 40% of your time working on an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner single response vehicle providing operational urgent and emergency care,
2. 40% of your time working in an Urgent Care Hub providing remote clinical assessment, advice, and support to staff and patients,
3. 20% of your working time undertaking professional leadership activities such as clinical supervision, education and research.
You will be required to demonstrate excellent clinical competence and patient care, robust communication skills, a forward-thinking and positive approach.

Qualifications
* Post graduate diploma or other appropriate higher education qualification leading to advanced paramedic practitioner (urgent and emergency care) qualification
* IHCD/FutureQuals Emergency Driving
* Registered Paramedic
* Advanced Paramedic Practitioner
* Relevant CPD relating to Urgent and Emergency Care
* Research qualification
Experience
* Significant experience of clinical practice in urgent and emergency care
* Evidence of understanding Enhanced and Advanced Practice
* Experience of supervising or mentoring healthcare professionals
* Demonstrable experience of working in pre-hospital care within an NHS ambulance environment or similar
* Demonstrates leadership in practice
* Experience of delivering or facilitating education
* Experience of undertaking or participating in research, service evaluation or audit
* Experience of undertaking remote consultations or provision of remote healthcare advice
Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
