The Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator will work with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff within the cancer multidisciplinary teams in Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust This work will be linked to one or more of the nine tumour specific sites.
This role fits within the context of national cancer standards which stipulate that all cancer patients should be managed by multidisciplinary teams ., Work with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure that all cancer patients pathways are identified and listed for discussion at weekly multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs), that referrals are scheduled with appropriate urgency (taking account of national guarantees on waiting times), and that all newly-diagnosed patients are registered on an agreed database to allow timely mandatory data returns .
Key support the MDT Lead Clinician to organize the mandated Tumour specific meeting in accordance with national and local guidelines.
The post holder must have comprehensive keyboard skills and a working knowledge of Word, Excel and databases. The ability to understand pathway reporting systems including CaMIS and Infoflex, extract information from appropriate systems including clinical records to complete detailed and complex pathway analysis is a requirement of this post.
The post holder must be able to work on their own initiative delivering high quality detailed work to national and local data reporting deadlines.
