Job summary To provide visible and supportive management of the maternity teams within the Maternity Wards- Frank Shaw ward (postnatal and antenatal ward) to cover a 12 month period on a fixed-term basis. Lead service change and development to enable the provision of high quality, safe care to women and their families and a supportive and safe working environment for staff. Main duties of the job Act independently to address issues within the allocated area of service such as staffing/ complaints/ environmental issues. Work closely with the Deputy Head of Midwifery/ Head of Midwifery to progress the service. To actively lead, advise on and support the development of Midwifery led care. Developing the service by leading improvement work streams. To practice in a safe caring and professionally competent manner in accordance with Midwives Rule and Code of Practice and those of the NMC and the Local Supervising Authority Midwifery Officer.
