We are looking to recruit a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our Emergency Department as a Housekeeper.
This position would suit a motivated, organised individual with good communication skills. You must have some experience in customer service and working with the public. Good communication and organisational skills are essential.

Main duties of the job
As a valuable member of the ward team you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety for the kitchen and the ward environment.
You will need to support patients with refreshments and dietary needs throughout their stay including completing of menu requests and administration of meals, report maintenance issues, clean equipment and maintain stock control.
Previous experience within this type of role is desirable although full training will be given.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Your role will be to help to maintain a safe & healthy ward environment.
1. Prepare, present and serve food and beverages.
2. To prepare and clear away areas where food and beverages are served/consumed.
3. Manage the kitchen environment and liaise with the catering department.
4. To maintain a safe and comfortable environment including the management and monitoring of linen/laundry, co-ordination of maintenance requirements, materials management and patient communication/liaison.
5. Provide care in adherence to local and national policies and ensure that relationships and own behaviour is managed in line with the Trust competencies.
Person specification
* Completion of Food Hygiene course
* Basic IT skills
* Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder e.g. standing for long periods of time
* Able to lift, push, pull items as required
* Self-motivated and disciplined
* Communicates with a limited range of people on day-to-day matters
