Our Director of Agronomy Steve Chappell, and our Golf Course Superintendent David Hay bring to the market a newly created opportunity Trainee Greenkeeper ideal for an individual with a passion and desire to carve out a career within Greenkeeping. As a Trainee Greenkeeper you will get first-hand experience in the day-to-day maintenance and preparation of the golf course. You will be hands-on working alongside our team with each day varied according to the time of year and learning a variety of jobs to maintain the health and appearance of the golf course. There will never be a shortage of tasks in this stunning location as you contribute to the upkeep of landscaping features ensuring the course’s beauty and playability.

Part of a dedicated team this is THE golfing opportunity of 2025 as we eagerly await, and with anticipation the re-opening of this well-known and renowned course. We would like to add two Trainee Greenkeepers to our agronomy team, who are prepared to learn and go the extra mile in supporting their team, and who enjoy coming to work with a smile ready for another great day!
Being naturally punctual and motivated with a ‘can do’ positive attitude who take pride in what they do, is just what is needed to thrive in this fantastic project.
You will gain valuable hands-on experience in the 'grow in' of a truly world class golfing facility along with setting up the already established golf holes for play which will include the preparation of bunkers, divot repairs, walk mowing bent grass greens complexes, tees set up & the mowing of fairways, tie ins and roughs.
You will learn to operate and maintain a range of machinery such as in the use of aeration equipment, mowers, trimmers, tractors, top dressing and fertility applications. All, of course, delivered to the highest of standards whilst expanding your turf management principles and environmental sustainability practice knowledge.

This is a superb opportunity and ideal if you thrive in a multiskilled role offering both variety and challenge. Some experience in a similar role and/ or environment would be an advantage, but not essential as this role is all about practical learning.
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude is essential, and you can maintain a professional and welcoming approach when engaging with members, guests & visitors. Pulling together and mucking in as a team across the whole site is essential including conducting remedial and preventative work to support other areas of the business.
You need to be passionate about working outdoors in varying weather conditions (this is Scotland after all!) and have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and operating equipment.
* A full UK Driving License is an advantage but not essential,
* Proficient in Information Communication Technology
