The role
As a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. An exciting opportunity to supervise a fleet of remote working vehicle mechanics working on client sites across the country. A great opportunity to make a difference and be present with the customer whilst visiting sites and supporting the team you manage.
Day-to-day, you'll provide the first line management capability for our mobile operational organisation ensuring the delivery teams have the people, tools and processes they need to safely deliver outputs against the plan(s). You will also be expected to carry out the duties of a Vehicle Mechanic as and when required.
Responsibilities:
* Day to day management of 8 vehicle mechanics
* Work task planning
* Conduct line manager duties i.e., appraisals and disciplinaries
* Updating of visual plans, charts, information to inform operative staff where they are against output plan(s)
* Continually looking for available resource or capacity vs demand plan and reacting to misalignments
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Warminster. Travel across the country is required as per the business needs.
Essential experience of the Mobile Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor:
* Experience with people management
* Competent PC user with Microsoft Office (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint)
* Previous experience within similar role is required
* A real team player with the ability to adapt and build rapport
Qualifications for the Mobile Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor:
* Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Level 3
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
