A little about myself: I am a young boy who has ASD, Fragile X and Prada Wili Syndrome. and a learning disability. I like anything to do with food. I like to run and spin and climb. I sometimes struggle to regulate my big emotions and can become easily overwhelmed in busy places. I need my PA to understand this and support me to regulate if I become overwhelmed.
Driver required to take me out.
After a period of rapport and trust building at home, I will need a PA who drives to take me to outside safe spaces and fun places for me to use up lots of energy and develop my social independence. Taking me for yummy treats will help me to be comfortable with you.
Female/male preferred. Ratio of 1-1.
Hours of work:
4 hours x 39 weeks in term time, schedule to be agreed with parents plus 10 miles,
8 hours x 13 weeks in school holidays, schedule to be agreed with parents plus 20 miles.
Rate of pay.
£12.75 per hour after tax and NI.
£0.39p per mile.
Essential: You must be patient and kind and happy. You must be experienced in working with young people who have ASD. You must be fast, to keep up with me and stop me from running into unsafe places. You must be able to swim competently and be happy to take me swimming or playing in the water.
Desirable I’d prefer if: You had experience of working with children with Fragile X and Prada Wili syndrome.

Concerning the position
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
