We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior or Principal Engineer to join our Development Infrastructure team. This full-time role is based in our Leeds office and can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.
Working as part of a team, you will be developing innovative solutions to today’s global challenges. Delivering sustainable designs that serve the needs of society today and into the future, through the provision of integrated multi-disciplinary consultancy services to our Clients.
You will be working on a variety of projects, including residential, energy, and commercial sector development schemes from inception through detailed design and on into construction. In particular, we have some fantastic large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
What does the role involve:
Working as part of the Development Infrastructure team on a variety of projects in the residential, energy, and commercial sectors, you will act as a Senior Engineer or a Principal Engineer to undertake and check the delivery of design solutions and coordinate with other disciplines.
You will be involved in projects from conception to completion including: Bid management to clarify the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, and project methodology; undertaking the detailed design and checking of outputs as directed (e.g. calculations, models, drawings, sketches, reports) to achieve the optimum solution for the project; assessing, documenting, and communicating design changes to the Client directly. You will also be expected to occasionally coordinate a design team and be involved in planning workload and allocating resources as required.
You will take ownership and responsibility for the quality of work you produce, ensuring that work is delivered in line with the agreed timescales and ensuring you understand and comply with our Company Integrated Management system and all relevant health and safety legislation. You will have the opportunity to recommend and implement improvements to technical policy, processes, and design solutions and share via the knowledge management channels as appropriate.
You will be expected to mentor and coach less experienced team members, whilst continuing to learn from experienced people who share a passion for working together with our clients to deliver technical excellence. You will be expected to develop meaningful and lasting relationships with a portfolio of clients to ensure repeat business.
