What you'll be doing This role will see you working with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities to deliver curriculum-linked activities that will increase students understanding of nature and the environment. Your day to day will include developing, planning, and delivering courses in outdoor teaching sites to students on science and geography school trips. This will involve leading groups of all abilities in the local environment, ensuring you always have the health and safety of the group in mind. As a Senior member of our Education Team, you will be responsible for the management for some of our junior team members. This will include carrying out personal development reviews, coaching and providing support and guidance to your direct reports. When you are not working in the field, you will also be happy to contribute to other aspects of working in a busy education centre. Where you'll be based Located next to Box Hill in Surrey, the Field Studies Council Juniper Hall centre has beautiful scenery and countryside surroundings yet is very easy to reach by car or public transport. Juniper Hall has two accommodation blocks and can accommodate a maximum of 130 guests. We are fortunate that our learning location has a variety of outdoor field sites in close proximity. This allows our visitors to study numerous subject matters including, grassland and woodland studies, urban and rural regeneration studies, fluvial studies, freshwater ecology, and coastal management.
You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and some previous experience of teaching or tutoring. You will also be confident with producing and preparing various learning resources. In addition, you will have:
