About the role We are looking for an experienced and qualified Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Traffic Engineer you will provide Council, the public and developers with expert advice on traffic issues including the preparation and management of programs for traffic and pedestrian facilities, cycleways, Black Spot identification and analysis. You will prepare professional reports for consideration by the Local Traffic Committee and Transport for NSW on a wide range of traffic and transport issues. You will also have the opportunity to assess development referrals for major traffic generating developments in a growing City. Essential criteria Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field to Traffic/Transport Engineering. Working knowledge and experience in local Traffic Engineering and/or Traffic Planning. A working knowledge of contemporary traffic legislation and procedures, and statutory instruments including the NSW Road Rules, Austroads, Australian Standards and Transport for NSW supplements. Experience in assessing development referrals for major traffic generating developments. Experience in the investigation and analysis of intersection capacity and safety. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in the preparation of reports and correspondence and the ability to liaise with Councillors, internal staff and external agencies / authorities. A current Class C Driver Licence. Commencing salary: $112,849.00 - $130,626.00 per annum, plus 11.5% Superannuation and a 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
